Marilyn Jessen
Marilyn was raised as a country kid on a dairy farm in the Waikato. On leaving school she completed an honours degree in business management, holding several senior management roles with high profile New Zealand companies, before running her own successful management consultancy. Changing direction, she completed a Media Arts degree and following her passion became a specialist teacher in music, photography, television and filmmaking.
Marilyn loves interior design, making and restoring furniture, renovating houses, landscape design, gardening and music. She is also a highly skilled photographer and is passionate about all forms of photography.
Marilyn’s photographs were first published in Don’s Retro and Vintage Boats book and subsequently in Vintage and Iconic Aircraft. A request from Don’s publisher to photograph a new book for ladies led to Marilyn writing her first book Her Space – She Sheds, Back Rooms and Kitchen Tables.
Like Don her retirement has led to a new career as a writer and photographer.
